This collection of lesbian
short films opens with The Piper, the story of Amy (Ruth Baldwin), who
finds both love and a solution to her cockroach problem with the arrival of the
legendary pied piper (Rebecca Kenyon), a very sexy woman in this fairytale. In
The Uninvited, a nosy neighbor gets a taste of her own medicine. Sarang
Song takes place in 1972 Los Angeles, and the film was the 2005 Showtime Black
Filmmaker Showcase Grand Prize Winner. Simone (Lalanya Masters) and Nessa (Caryn
Ward) are an African-American couple embroiled in activism against police brutality
and harassment. Simone seems to put the movement before their relationship. Can
she hold on to Nessa? This Boy is actually Kit, a young girl with
a serious crush on her classmate Holly in the 1960s. She dresses like a boy and
breaks into Holly's house, with disastrous consequences, although she makes a
positive impression on her crush. Shugar Shank is a tale of teen
angst, as Matt (Kestrin Pantera) longs for bandmate Robin (Caroline Macey), who
may have eyes for their male lead singer instead. Matt pours her heart into her
music to cope. And finally, sexy film festival favorite Cosa Bella.
College roommates Delphine (Stephanie Szostak) and Bella (Alexie Gilmore) seem
to have been in love for years, although Bella has moved on to become a successful
interior designer in New York City. When they get together again, will Delphine
finally choose a life with Bella? |
