Frédérique
(Stéphane Audran) is a rich, cocky bisexual woman who one day picks up
a beautiful street artist named Why (Jacqueline Sassard). The lovebirds travel
to Frédérique's home in Saint Tropez in the south of France. The
younger Why seems bored of Frédérique's rather annoying gay friends
and the social life there. One night she goes home with Paul (Jean-Louis Trintignant),
one of the party guests, hurting Frédérique, although she keeps
her cool exterior. In return, Frédérique seeks the man out and begins
a relationship with him, even inviting him to move into the house. One won't leave
the threesome alive. This is a stylish 1960s film, void of passion or intense
arguments even in matters of love. One might expect a tragic ending for a film
about bisexual women in this period, but it's just tired watching it now.
