Marie (Cécile De France)
is a college student who goes home with her friend Alex (Maïwenn Le Besco)
for a weekend of quiet studying at her family's home, an isolated farm house in
France. Marie has an interest in her friend, and she actually masturbates thinking
about her, but Alex mentions a couple times that Marie needs to get a boyfriend. Uh
oh, you know there are usually maniacal killers lurking out in the country. A
man comes to the house and sadistically kills Alex's mother, father and brother,
taking Alex with him. Marie hops into the van to try to save her. Talk about gross
violence. This is a literal axe murderer who also carries a power saw, and it's
just gore everywhere. Let's just say that in the midst of all of this,
Marie's love for Alex takes a negative turn. It's not a film that I would care
to watch again, but I have a friend who appreciates horror flicks, and she liked
it for its unique plot twists for the slasher genre.
