It seems that this comedy
is best known as an attempt for porn star Ginger Lynn Allen (Thinking
XXX) to go mainstream as an actress. She actually doesn't do a bad job. Two
bisexual Minneapolis women are in a complicated relationship. Elizabeth (Elizabeth
Saltarrelli) still sleeps with men, but she is really in love with Leslie. Leslie
(Allen) can't bring herself to leave her abusive husband Steve (Chris Mulkey,
Foxfire), even though she imagines being with
Elizabeth while having sex with him. When Steve comes after Elizabeth, she
has to get out of town fast, and when she can't convince Leslie to flee as well,
she literally binds and gags her. Off they go on a road trip through rural Minnesota
with their friend Cliff (Chris Denton), who has just survived a suicide attempt. Elizabeth
explains that she is stepping in with an intervention, while the kidnapped Leslie
merely feels like her girlfriend has taken over her husband's role of running
her life. With Steve on their tails, Leslie plans escapes, Cliff keeps unsuccessfully
trying to kill himself, and Elizabeth is frustrated that her love for Leslie has
taken a wrong turn. As a comedy, there are some funny moments, but not consistently.
There are several heterosexual sex scenes, but not a one between the two main
characters (except a brief fantasy while Leslie is with Steve). |
