Vera (Neve Campbell, Wild Things, The Craft) is in her mid-20s, living in New York and into exploring her sexuality with both men and women, trying to make a connection with someone. She videotapes having sex with a female lover (completely behind a curtain) and picks men up on the street … but she’s also very bright, interesting and a nice sketch artist.
Her boyfriend Ford (Fred Weller, The Business of Strangers) is a scammer and loser, just out for himself. He comes up with a plan to have Vera sleep with a wealthy man (Dominic Chianese) for $100,000, but Vera outwits them both in a really horrible, unfeeling way. She seems to enjoy her sexual power.
Unfortunately, the soundtrack music is so loud that it’s hard to concentrate on what’s being said. My guess is that this is intentional, as the camera work is edgy as well. Cameo by Mike Tyson. (AB)
