The Mostly Unfabulous Social Life of Ethan GreenThe Mostly Unfabulous Social Life of Ethan Green is an adaptation of the gay comic strip by Eric Orner. The film version is about Ethan (Daniel Letterle), a young gay man who can’t seem to get it together. No guy is good enough for him, and he keeps screwing up his relationships.

He breaks up with Kyle (Diego Serrano), a former professional baseball player who has just come out of the closet. He can’t even keep a relationship going with Punch (Dean Shelton), a young guy just in it for the sex. The man he really seems to want is Leo (David Monahan), the one he let get away two years ago.

Ethan rents a house from Leo, but Leo is planning to sell it and buy a house with his new boyfriend Chester (Scott Atkinson), a gay Republican. Ethan’s roommate is Charlotte (Shanola Hampton), a lesbian who has just been dumped by her girlfriend.

To stall the sale, Ethan tricks Leo into hiring Sunny Deal (Rebecca Lowman), a depressed real estate agent with an awful sales record. What Ethan doesn’t count on is that Charlotte and the previously straight Sunny will get together, causing Sunny to sell in a flash.

Unfortunately, the film is very predictable, and Ethan is an annoying guy. The one bright point is Meredith Baxter, who plays Ethan’s mom, a gay wedding planner. (AB)
