An Emmy winner for Outstanding Animated Program, Futurama is the animated story of Fry (Billy West), a not-too-bright pizza delivery guy who accidentally froze himself. He wakes up 1000 years in the future and starts working for a galactic delivery company on a ship piloted by Leela (Katey Sagal, Married With Children, Sons of Anarchy), a female Cyclops, and assisted by Bender (John Di Maggio), a robot. There is one gender bending episode.

Fry and Bender join the army to get a discount on gum, and soon they are off to war against a planet inhabited by bouncing balls. Leela wants to go as well, but only men are accepted. In training, one new recruit outshines them all. No one recognizes that Lee is really Leela in disguise as a man. Finally Leela must reveal her identity to save Bender, who has been rigged with a bomb. (AB)
