And Then Came LolaAnd Then Came Lola is a fun and fast-paced romp using animation as a way to keep the pace fast and furious.  Filmed in San Francisco, you get a good seat to the scenery of the city.  Ashleigh Sumner plays Lola, a photographer with a reputation for not doing well in relationships.

Her current girlfriend, Casey, is played by Jill Bennett (We Have To Stop Now web series, and Dante’s Cove).  The story revolves around Casey needing Lola to reach her in time with the photography for a major job meeting with her ex, played by Cathy DeBuono (Out at The Wedding, We Have To Stop Now).

Lola has three chances to make it right, to reach Casey in time.  The theme is loosely based on the art house classic, Run, Lola, Run.  I would classify the film as a romantic comedy.  My only problem with the film, in general, is that there was not a great deal of chemistry between Casey and Lola, which made their relationship less than believable for me.

With that being said, the scenes between Jill Bennett and Cathy DeBuono are well worth watching (they are real-life partners so it’s not exactly unexpected, but nice to watch).  (Nina Knapp)
